Fitness Model Superwoman

An Interview with Karen Zaremba
By Nicole Ferreira
Clearly, Karen Zaremba is not the average woman. Not only does she have one of the hottest and leanest bodies in the Fitness Industry, but she is also a 39 year-old wife and mother of two! Yes, this Fitness Model Superwoman, from Detroit, Michigan, finds the time to model, compete and be a loving wife and mother. She also has a body that’s better then most twenty-year-olds. It’s hard to believe that this sensual beauty is considered “middle-aged” in society’s eyes. Nevertheless, FitBeauties is here to crush that bogus societal stereotype. This heart-stopping layout proves that just like wine, women get better with age.

FB: Besides being a fitness model and full-time wife and mother, what other accomplishments would you like to share?

KZ: As a teen, I loved to run track and field and play basketball. I attended a small all-girls college in Michigan called Sienna Heights, where I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. I actually had a four year scholarship in college, for basketball, track and field, and cross country. I was the team captain, and after college I coached high school basketball and track and field. Most recently, I’ve competed in both Physique and Bodybuilding competitions, and have won. So you could say I have quite an athletic background, making for a tight, fit body.

FB: Tell us about your average day.

KZ: Well, I wake up very early, get my children off to school, and then immediately go to the gym. After my workout, I run errands and clean house, then it’s time to pick the kids up from school again. The remainder of my day is filled with being with my children, preparing supper for my family, and spending quality time with my beloved husband.

FB: Does having children make staying in shape difficult?

KZ: For me, it’s just the opposite. I was in great shape before I had my kids, so staying fit isn’t anything new to me. I love to train, and go to the gym, so it’s definitely not a struggle. I have many friends at the gym, and I love the people. I never want to be the typical “middle-aged” mother and wife. I wear what I want and do what I want, but I get a lot of crap from other people. Overall, my husband and I live a healthy lifestyle. When we can, my husband and I work out together. Actually, before the kids were in school, they would exercise with me. I’d be doing crunches, and they’d be on the floor right next to me, copying me. It was so cute.

FB: What is your training and diet regimen like?

KZ: I train four days a week, splitting my body up into four different workouts: legs, biceps and triceps, shoulders and chest, and back. I love the Precor Elliptical trainer. I do cardio at least three times per week. I’m lucky, because I have good genetics. I build muscle easily, and I always stay lean. In terms of a diet, the whole family eats low-carb and high protein. My kids eat what my husband and I eat. They love healthy food.

FB: How long have you been a fitness model?

KZ: Well, this is really a funny story. One night, about three years ago, my husband and I were looking through a popular Fitness and Bodybuilding magazine. My husband turned to me and said, “Karen, you should be in here.” I just laughed and responded, “I would love that.” So, my husband got Rob Sims’ name from this magazine, e-mailed him some photos of me, and half-an-hour later, Rob and I were speaking on the phone and were planning my first professional fitness model shoot in California. I couldn’t believe it! I was like a kid at Christmas, jumping up and down and yelling. A few months later, I shot with Rob, and the photos from my first shoot went to print in MuscleMag. Once I was published, however, I wanted more and more!

FB: What goes through your mind when you’re at a photo shoot?

KZ: First, let me say that Rob Sims is great! He made me feel so comfortable with my body. At our first shoot, he literally took my hand, and walked me through some poses. Well, it only took a few shots before I really let it rip. I always had this “sexy-side” within me. Modeling is my chance to be sexy. Honestly, I think to myself, “I feel hot…my body is fit and toned…I train hard...now’s my chance to show it off.” I’m just letting out what has always been inside of me. I don’t hold back. I’m very confident. It’s so much fun.

FB: Do your children know you model?

KZ: Yes, they know I’m a model, but they don’t see any photographs. I have a 7 year-old daughter and a six year-old son, so, now, they’re too young to see and understand the photographs. My daughter might ask, “Mommy, did you wear this swimsuit when you modeled?” I simply say yes, and leave it at that for now.

FB: Does being a Fitness Model improve your sex life?

KZ: Yes. My husband and I are so into each other. He’s very romantic and always makes me feel that I’m sexy. I’ve learned that there’s nothing to be afraid of in the bedroom. Who else would you want to experiment with, other than your loving partner. It’s not like your grandma is watching…

FB: What style music turns you on?

KZ: Heavy Metal. I just saw Iron Maiden this summer, along with Kiss and Aerosmith!

FB: What’s the sexiest thing a woman can wear?

KZ: I feel sexy in tiny little boy shorts. I like them to be so low that the small of my back is showing, and my buns stick out. You can’t see a whole lot, but you can see enough. I also feel sexy in a large men’s t-shirt. Wearing one of my husband’s tees reminds me of when we were first dating, and I was sleeping over. But, nothing at all is the sexiest.

FB: What’s your favorite male body part?

KZ: Definitely his eyes, and then his smile. A man’s got to have a great smile and genuine eyes to be attractive to me.

FB: What’s the most romantic gesture a man can show you?

KZ: Well, not the typical flowers and candy. I like to be left “love notes” in a place you would least suspect…like your panty drawer. It shows he thought enough about you to write down his feelings.

FB: What is the most erotic move a woman can make on a man?

KZ: Definitely a striptease. Men are visual beings, and a striptease dance just puts it all out there. A girl should do it all up for her man, once in a while. The shoes, stockings, and lingerie…have some fun.

FB: On which body part do you receive the most compliments?

KZ: Definitely my butt and legs. My butt is in the magazines all the time.

FB: What do you believe is the most sensual food?

KZ: Ice Cream. You can let it melt all over, and lick it up easy.

FB: Where’s the naughtiest place you’ve made love?

KZ: I have two places. The first was in Jamaica, in a Jacuzzi, with my father-in-law in it. He never knew. I was just sitting on my husband’s lap, and he, well you know, just slid it in. The other was at a graduation party, on the back porch of the house, in the middle of the day.

FB: What advice would you give to others to keep it spicy in the bedroom?

KZ: Don’t be afraid to try new things. Don’t worry about what others think. It’s OK to tell your partner what you want, even if it’s bizarre. Have an open mind.

FB: What scent turns you on?

KZ: The natural scent of my man. I love to smell his pillow. It has the hint of his cologne.

FB: If you could do anything differently in your life, what would it be? P

KZ: Probably, the only thing would be…well, I wish I had the courage and confidence in myself when I was eighteen years-old that I have now. Maybe I would have had the guts to move, and experience different things.

FB: What’s one thing that people don’t know about you.

KZ: That I’m a down to earth, funny, people person. I’m very sociable, and I appreciate it when people get to know me instead of judging me by my looks.

FB: What are your future goals?

KZ: To be a good mother, and to look at my kids as adults and give them a thumbs-up. I have a lot ahead of me, and I want them to think I’m a good mom. I’d also love to compete in Figure or Bodybuilding again.

FB: Any ending comments?

KZ: My husband and I have a saying, “show me a good loser, and I’ll show you a loser.” What we mean is that we’re competitive people, and when we attempt something we give it our all. Whether on stage, our marriage, or as parents, we give 100% all the time.

As you can see, Karen Zaremba is one amazing woman. She’s beautiful, fit and manages to compete in both physique and bodybuilding competitions, while raising a family. She also has a healthy sexual appetite, and believes fitness modeling has opened a door to a new level of sexuality. However, the most impressive quality of this lovely lady is her strong sense of priority. Family comes first, and everything else is second. As she put it, “no matter what, your family comes first. Everything else in your life should enhance it.”
